Usable and Relevant Knowledge

The year 2011 is coming to an end, and yet it seems  that this years’ nonviolent social moments  have only began to awaken.  This context raises important questions about the role of critical social research:

How can social research accompany these emergent movements? And how can we generate knowledge that is usable  and relevant to those participanting of social mobilizations? How can we make it easir for our research to have an impact on action or discourse?

 As a  brief reflection on these questions, here we share a presentation about the Memoscopio project, which has been adapted from a paper presented at the 2010 SPSSI Biennal Convention, in New Orleans, LA. The paper was part of the panel  on “Impact Validity as a Framework for Advocacy-Based Research”  chaired by Dr. Sean Massey (Binghamton University).
